COMMUNITY

GIVING BACK
TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD

As your community lender, we realize that taking action is a critical part of community enrichment. We’ve partnered with several non-profit organizations in honor of our commitment to that value. We don’t just talk the talk, we walk the walk. We’re invested in the success of our communities and we’re relentless in our efforts to protect that investment.

MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM

AmeriCU has partnered with various children’s hospitals across the U.S. to provide financial assistance to families with chronically or critically ill or injured children through our Mortgage/Rental Assistance Program. We are proud to offer families struggling with the emotional and financial burden of a critically ill or injured child a sense of relief during an incredibly difficult time.

Mortgage/Rental Assistance Program– provides monthly payment assistance to parents/guardians with critically ill or injured children, allowing them to spend precious time together. Providing a small measure of relief for parents/guardians who are struggling to cope with both the emotional and financial difficulties that comes with caring for a critically ill or injured child.

METHODIST CHILDREN’S HOME SOCIETY

The Methodist Children’s Home Society strives to meet the needs of neglected and abused children by providing housing, educational, clinical and therapeutic services. Through their efforts, Michigan’s most fragile children are introduced to a loving, comfortable and safe environment. They encourage children to reach their full potential by providing them with the resources they need to succeed. Visit http://www.mchsmi.org to learn more.

Our employees have taken part in an array of company-sponsored volunteer opportunities with the Methodist Children’s Home Society in 2016, including an AmeriCU Sponsored Detroit Tigers Outing, a Halloween Trunk-or-Treat Event, a Holiday Celebration Party and Secret Santa Grant-A-Wish Program.

While many of these children are happy just to receive basic necessities, we believe providing them with every opportunity to enjoy their childhood is equally valuable. Today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders; here at AmeriCU, we hope to inspire these children to reach their full potential through our efforts.

GLEANERS COMMUNITY FOOD BANK

Headquartered in Detroit, Gleaners Community Food Bank operates five distribution centers in Southeast Michigan and provides food to various soup kitchens, food pantries, and shelters in Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Monroe counties.

Gleaners collects 34.5 million pounds of food and provides nutrition education to nearly 85,000 children each year. To learn more, visit www.gcfb.org.

Here at AmeriCU, we believe that every family should have access to quality, nutritious food. We partnered with Gleaners Community Food Bank to host a virtual food drive. Together, we raised $5000 in 2016 to aid in their mission to end hunger in southeast Michigan.

CORNERSTONE SCHOOLS

Located in Detroit, Michigan, Cornerstone School partners with global, financial powerhouses to provide students in grades K-12 with a first rate education that includes award-winning music, sports and foreign language programs.

With a focus on both academic and personal growth, Cornerstone provides its students with a caring, nurturing atmosphere, in which they are encouraged to curate relationships that will benefit them long after they leave. To find out how you can get involved, visit http://www.cornerstoneschools.org.

AmeriCU Mortgage participates in Cornerstone School’s Partner Program. This innovative approach pairs a deserving student with a partner to aid in the funding of their education. Additionally, partners serve as mentors, providing valuable insight on how to be successful as a student and beyond. Each partner partakes in four Partner Morning events per school year, allowing them to establish a meaningful relationship and play an active role in their mentees education.

WE’RE HERE TO HELP

As our company continues to grow, we’re looking to expand our community outreach initiatives, too. If you or someone you know is active in a non-profit organization and you’re interested in a partnership with AmeriCU Mortgage, please email Communityinfo@AmeriCU.com for details on how to get started.
